FUNGI. Anarchistische ontwerpers

Anti-design
Tsing en Zhou noemen hun FUNGI daarom liever een tentoonstelling van ‘anti-design’, een vorm van onbewust en onbeheersbaar ontwerp waarin schimmels geen passief bouwmateriaal zijn, maar de anarchistische medeontwerpers van een wereld die alleen kan bestaan bij de gratie van bondgenootschappen tussen mensen en anders-dan-menselijk leven.

Ingold characterizes “ground”, and our conceptualization of soil comes
close to this, not as a flat surface but as a “deep surface” with an unmeasurable “inner depth,” as an intense “zone of interpenetration” or a “world” wherein “agencies” and “patiencies” of composing elements and inhabitants alternate.
